FN 34: […] (25 February 1539, already Lent), Caro writes to the same man that he had missed Rome during questo carnovale” because he had been in Naples. Neither letter specifically makes any mention of academy activities. By late 1539, the New Poetry” group was taking over: see ibid., 16263 (22 November 1539), 290 (ca. 1544); Greco, 4546; Ferroni, 378, 380, 385, n. 27. Blados publication in October 1539 of TolomeiVersi et regole de la nuova poesia Toscana probably marked the groups reformulation.

Sangallo measures the round temple in Tivoli while visiting the city in the company of Pope Paul III. Sangallo uses the ancient Roman foot divided into 16 digiti. Drawing: Uffizi A 1216 (= Vasori No. 122): "Del tempio tondo de Tigoli de mia mano levato a dì 5 settembre 1539 (es)sendo sua s.ta a Tigoli papa Pagolo" [Günther 1988: 209 Fn. 12]
