Matal writes to Panvinio in Rome that he supported Panvinio's work on the edition of the Fasti (about 1550) with information collected from ancient coins and medals: "Dum consules tuos cum eruditis viris communicabas istic; me item tibi, quidquid ex antiquis nummis ad id colligeram, totum libenter tradidisse."
